About IASO Olympiad 2012
Exam Date: 14th September

IASO is International Amateurs Science Olympiad
This Olympiad aims at identifying the Young Amateur Scientists for the elite Amateur Club of IAAMS Eligibility for IASO

All students from Class 2 to Class 10 studying in CBSE or ICSE or IB/IGCSE schools.

All students from Class 2 to Class 10 studying in CBSE or ICSE or IB/IGCSE schools.

Structure and Pattern of Prelims - 2012
1. This exam will be conducted in two levels.
Prelims – 2012 (First Level) :
This level will be conducted in the respective school premises.
Mains – 2012 (Second Level) :
Top 500 students in each class along with class toppers from each school will be selected and Mains – 2012.

2. The medium of the test will be English

3. Objective Type with responses captured on OMR sheets


4. The maximum Duration of the exam is 90min.

5. Structure and Pattern of Prelims 2012.

 

1. This exam will be conducted in two levels.
Prelims – 2012 (First Level) : This level will be conducted in the respective school premises .This is an Assessment level exam Mains – 2012 (Second Level) : Top 500 students from each class will be selected along with the class toppers for Mains – 2012 and it will be Conducted in the nearest selected centers. This is the Olympiad level.

2. The medium of the test will be English

3. Prelims constitute with objective type with responses captured on OMR sheets

4. The Duration of the prelims exam is ranges from 60 min to 90min and it is class dependent.

5. The number of questions in prelims ranges from 45 to 75 and it is class dependent .

 

6. There will be seperate question paper for each class.

Before IASO Olympiad Exam

How to participate
Registration of Students : Olympiad 2012 is open to the students of classes 2 to 12 and registrations are received from the schools in the prescribed pro-forma. School Registration Form / Student Participation Details Form and the entire School Communication Kit-2012 is posted to the schools.

Roll Numbers:
The school's coordinating teacher will be generating the students' Roll Numbers as per the guidelines given. A copy of these roll numbers along with the students' registration and school registration sheet should be sent to the IAAMS's Central office before the last date.

IAAMS will register your school and the students and dispatch question papers and guidelines for conducting the examination. Principals / teachers may please note that any school can be registered as a centre for Olympiad 2012.

Minimum of 40 students need to be registered from each school for feasibility reasons. Students should be registered through the schools only. Individual registration by the student is not encouraged.

Fees : A nominal participation fee is charged from each student. Part of it is retained by the school for its expenses as exam centre. Details about the fee / mode of payment etc. are given in the School Registration Forms sent to schools.

IAAMS Olympiad 2012 is conducted in the subjects: Mathematics, Science and Computer Skills & English is in two levels:

Prelims and Mains

Prelims: The date for Prelims is 14th September, 2012.
Mains: The date for Mains is Novermber 2012

Prelims – 2012 (First Level): This level will be conducted in the respective school premises under the supervision of IAAMS deputed coordinator.
Mains – 2012 (Second Level): Top 15% of the students in each class will be selected and Mains – 2012 will be Conducted in the nearest selected centers.

Science Genius Shield will be Awarded for that school for having created a “Amateur Scientist”. School Science Quotient Report will be given for every participating School.
